Giving a new twist to government formation in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday set some new conditions for Congress and BJP before it can decide on forming a government, a move seen as attempts to fob off criticism that it was running away from taking responsibility.
Delhi lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung, whom AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal met, has said he will send a report to the President, an indication that he would tell the Centre that government formation will not be possible now.
Earlier, Kejriwal had given to Jung the copies of the letters he had written to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and BJP president Rajnath Singh seeking their views on a list of 18 issues that included ending VIP culture in the capital, audit of electricity companies and removal of MLA local funds scheme.

That was how Salman Khan explained why his upcoming film's title changed from 'Mental' to 'Jai Ho'. The occasion was the launch of the movie's trailer, directed by brother Sohail, and Salman was certainly in the mood for wisecracks.
He said, "We have an Intelligent Khan, Badshah Khan and then there is Saif Ali Khan. I felt some people may start calling me Mental Khan though I wouldn't have had any issues with that. But my dad was not in favour of the title, unko aitraaz tha... he felt Jai Ho sounded better."

British Prime Minister David Cameron came in for some drubbing from a court judge in London for calling himself a fan of celebrity chef Nigella Lawson who is in the middle of a fraud trial in which she is a main prosecution witness.
David Cameron said recently that he was on "Team Nigella" - the name adopted by the chefs' supporters in the legal case.
Judge Robin Johnson from Isleworth Crown Court asked jurors to disregard the comments made by Cameron.
Calling himself a "massive fan" of Nigella, Cameron said "I've had the great pleasure of meeting her a couple of times and she always strikes me as a very funny and warm person, but I'm also an amateur cook and I like her recipes. Nancy (Cameron's nine-year-old daughter) and I sometimes watch a bit of Nigella on telly".

A newly married woman has accused her husband, an executive with a private firm, of brutally raping and sodomizing her during their honeymoon in Bangkok and Thailand, police said on Thursday.
The 23-year-old victim, along with her family, approached police late last night after which an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC was lodged against the victim's husband, Punit Bhardwaj.
She was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where sodomy was confirmed in her medical examination. She was also given medical assistance there, police said.
Her husband, who works as a project manager with a multinational company, is at large and several police teams have been deployed to nab him, police said.

Over the past few months I have watched bitcoin's value rise exponentially. I had no idea what bitcoin was and never even heard of crypto currency a few months ago. But with the recent government and media attention crypto currencies have received, they have gotten everyone's attention.
Crypto currency or more simply digital money is gaining acceptance quickly all over the world as it makes transactions quicker and cheaper. These transactions are secured by cryptography and each transaction has its own signature or private key. With its rise in value and popularity everyone wants a piece of the action. There are two main ways to make money with bitcoin. The first is a pretty straightforward method of purchasing the coin as an investment and hope that its value increases. The second is the process of "mining" bitcoins. Once a transaction has occurred they are then verified over the network by "miners" using complicated algorithms. As a reward for their work they receive transaction fees and/or freshly minted bitcoins!

The Supreme Court on Wednesday dealt a cruel blow to lakhs of homosexuals, many of whom had started living together after the Delhi high court decriminalized same-sex relationships four years ago, by making it a crime again, even if it is consensual and done between adults in private. The 'crime' will attract a maximum punishment of life imprisonment.
The bench of Justices Singhvi and S J Mukhopadhaya reversed the Delhi HC's 2009 verdict and held that the 150-year-old Section 377, criminalizing gay sex, "does not suffer from the vice of unconstitutionality". The judgment would turn the clock back, and was being viewed in India and globally as a retrograde step. The possibility of police harassment of homosexuals could no longer be ruled out.
The bench said: "In the light of plain meaning and legislative history of the section, we hold that Section 377 IPC would apply irrespective of age and consent." It added that the section does not discriminate any group with a particular sexual preference, a stand that was diametrically opposite to that by the Delhi HC.
"It is relevant to mention here that Section 377 IPC does not criminalize a particular people or identity or orientation. It merely identifies certain acts, which if committed, would constitute an offence. Such prohibition regulates sexual conduct regardless of gender identity and orientation," Justices Singhvi said.
