Angry Birds to get Star Wars flavour in November
Share The Knowledge
Angry Birds maker Rovio has joined hands with Lucasfilms to give the popular iOS and Android game a taste of the popular Star Wars franchise. The trailer of the game is already available on Rovio Mobile's YouTube channel. This iteration of the popular game will be launched on November 8, 2012 and the setting will be the planets from the Star Wars franchise, such as Hoth and Tatooine.
The birds in the game will now represent the well-known Rebel Alliance characters from the space saga, such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Obi Wan Kenobi, Han Solo and Chewbacca. The villains of the game, the green coloured pigs, will play the role of the dark side's stormtroopers, led by the porky version of Darth Vader. The iconic Star Wars background score will be reworked during the third intergalactic venture of the birds, after Angry Birds: Mission To Mars and Angry Birds: Space.
Before teaming up with Lucasfilm, Rovio had worked with film distribution agency Twentieth Century Fox, which incidentally also distributes Star Wars, to create the title Angry Birds: Rio. For Angry Birds: Space, it had collaborated with Nasa.
Apart from Angry Birds, Rovio has introduced two new games, Amazing Alex and just a few weeks ago Bad Piggies, which have not been unable to recreate the magic of the fight between the birds and pigs.
