Singles’ V-Day survival kit
Share The Knowledge
It's that time of the year yet again, when red becomes everyone's favourite colour and everything starts looking like hearts.
And if you're one of those who dread walking out of the house because everything about Valentine's reminds you of how single you are — fret not — here's a list of things you could do to enjoy the festival of PDA in all your single glory!
Have a house party
If you're the type who doesn't like to hang out alone, why not invite some friends over for a singles' party? As cliched as it sounds, you could even try having an all-guy gaming session or an all-girl pajama party or just have all your single friends over to hang out.
Movie anyone?
Okay, let's face it. You're one of those who actually feel sad about not having a date on Valentine's. Well, pamper yourself with some sympathy then — yes you read right! If you have nobody to listen to you crib about being single on V-Day and if that's all you want — rent out some super romantic films and cry yourself a river about how beautiful love is. It will definitely make you feel better and you don't have to tell anyone about this ever!
Have an evening in
Stepping out on the evening of Valentines is probably a bad idea even if you just want to grab a quick cuppa. Short of heart shaped confetti raining atop your head, everything cheesy is bound to happen to you, including uncomfortable coffee-shop PDA and long waiting hours, almost everywhere. So why not stay in for a bit, make yourself a delicious cup of cinnamon coffee (or whichever way you like it) and cook yourself an elaborate meal.
Hit the gym
If you're one of those who like to gym in the morning, try going in the evening today. In all likeliness, the only people who will be in the gym on Valentines evening will be all those singles who haven't been forced into going on a date and can peacefully enjoy a healthy workout session. And who knows, maybe you'd finally find out that the hot guy/girl you'd been eyeing is actually single too!
Be thankful
Yes, you can be thankful and grateful for the fact that on this day — you can do whatever you want, unlike those, whose day will be ruled by which crowded candle-lit poolside buffet looks best for an 'intimate' dinner. So go ahead and do just that — whatever you want! Sleep in late, have an early night, eat whatever you like and wherever you like without someone breathing down your neck about having made a mess.
